The Struggle

white dress, green jacketA few years ago I saw a movie called Office Space. In this satirical comedy about the work-life of a typical mid-’90’s American software company, a few characters mention something called “a case of the Mondays.” I’d never heard that term before, but when returning to work, after two weeks off, I was struggling with a serious case of the Mondays. Determined to not bring that humdrum attitude into the rest of my week, today I decided to fight back.

 

What’s the quintessential battle gear? Combat boots! I recently scored these brown ones for 50% off at Target. They’re almost an exact replica of the Steve Madden Troopa Boot. (I won’t tell they’re not Steve Madden if you won’t 😉 ) I paired my boots with a white empire waist, midi dress. The boots were a great way to bring a little edge to the girly summer dress. To cover the spaghetti straps and keep with my fighting theme, I’m wearing a sage military jacket with a mandarin collar and beautiful embossed buttons. For balancing out the masculine aspects of this look I chose big gold earring and gaudy bracelets. How do you dress for the struggle?
