I have to admit, I am a sucker for a statement necklace. It’s one accessory that can really make an outfit. Lately, I’ve been eyeballing tortoise style necklaces. But I haven’t been willing to pay $58 for one from Bauble Bar. Luckily, I saw this one on sale for $19.99 at ILY. I ordered it immediately!
When it arrived it was much larger than I expected. I felt like this statement necklace might be saying too much. So it sat in my jewelry box all summer. Yet, when I looked at the necklace today I thought,” What’s the point of a statement necklace if it doesn’t make a statement? Might as well say it loud!”
And with that, I put it on. The gaudy tortoise flowers are definitely an addition to my simple black sweater. I layered the sweater over a white hi-low blouse that mirrors the slit in the sweater’s hem line. To not compete with the necklace I wore jeans that I cuffed to show off my two-toned booties. The black and brown booties pick up the dark hues in the necklace to complete the look. What statement is your necklace making?

What a lovely statement necklace! I’m with you, I haven’t found it in me to spend over $50 at Baubblebar for just one piece. I’ve come close, but stop myself each and every time. With a little patience it’s amazing what we can find at a steal. You definitely hit the jackpot here! 😉
